Tej Kohli on Shoaib Akhtar's Ban

July 2 2008, 7:17 AM

Pakistan’s temperamental fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar is banned for five years by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) this Tuesday for repeated disciplinary violations.

Board chairman Dr. Nasim Ashraf told a news conference the suspension was imposed on the recommendation of the PCB disciplinary committee and the paceman had the right to lodge an appeal. "He can't play for Pakistan or anywhere in Pakistan. But he can play in the Indian Premier League which is not in our jurisdiction," said Ashraf.

Leg-spinner Danish Kaneria, who like Akhtar criticised board policies when the new central contracts were announced in January, was warned and reprimanded.
Akhtar was dropped from the list of contracts while Kaneria was demoted.

Tuesday's announcement came after the two players appeared before the disciplinary committee in Rawalpindi. "He (Akhtar) was already under a two-year probation period from last year," said Ashraf. "He committed repeated offences of indiscipline from 2004 to 2008, around 15 in total.’’

"We gave him lots of chances in the past but he reached a stage where he had become damaging for himself and Pakistan cricket and a habitual offender. The board has lost confidence in Shoaib Akhtar."

Take Time to Relax says Tej Kohli

June 4 2008, 12:12 AM

Tej Kohli believes that after a long day at work, rest is something that you should not compromise on.

Although stress is something that most of us suffer from to an extent (whether in the form of a chronic illness or only an occasional happening), it is not the monster we make it out to be, and can in fact be harnessed with only a small bit of extra effort.

In today’s modern, fast-paced society, it is imperative that we learn to find a just balance between working hard and taking the time to relax and enjoy ourselves. Each one of us has a need to rest and recuperate after a hard day, week, or month of work.

Relaxing need not be an extravagant affair. Watching a movie or listening to music at the end of a long day can work wonders for healing the effects of a stressful day. This coupled together with a nice meal and a refreshing fruit juice, should make you feel almost as good as new.

Many executives I know say that listening to their favorite music both to and from work is an excellent way to sneak some relaxation into an otherwise busy schedule. You can also try listening to music during your lunch break to ease the stress and strain of the day.

If you want your time of relaxing to be extra special you can always plan out a ‘family day’ with your near and dear ones. It need not only be your personal family, it can be that of your friends, colleagues or relatives as well. Take your family to the cinema, the zoo or wherever will be the most relaxing for you.

You can also throw a party exclusively for your near and dear ones. Organize it, and surprise those on your team by gifting them invitation cards to attend.

No matter what, take time to relax. You are worth it!

Fashion for Women - Tej Kohli

May 17 2008, 2:42 AM

Sometimes fashion can be considered synonymous to women. I hope you would all agree to  it . Hi, I'am  Tej Kohli. You might be wondering what a man has to do with fashion?

Well that's partially true. I don't know much about female fashion, but there are certain things that i would like to share.

For us being fashionable has everything to do with donning stylish clothes or hanging exquisite jewellery, or complementing face with synthetic cosmetics. But things are changing now. Fashion nowadays is lot wider a term. Apart from chic clothing and accessories, it entails everything that constitutes the overall persona of a woman like her body frame skin tone and needless to say, her personality. Here are some tips that will help you look stunning and gorgeous in all ways.

1. Skin Tone

If you have fairer complexion, gold and copper shades, as well as maroon, would look good on you. For women with medium complexion, go for shades of beige, white or bronzy golden. For darker-skinned women, golden copper shades, as well as oranges and reds work best.

My wife Navtej Kohli is tad fair

2. Personality

The attitude you possess essentially defines your clothing sense and overall appearance. Do not be afraid to try out different styles that you like even if they are not today's hottest trends. Being fashionable means being able to express your individuality in the clothes you wear. If you are loving what you are wearing, then people would see it through your clothes.

3. Body Frame

If you are a plump woman, try to avoid wearing sleeveless tops. You could probably go for darker colored clothing instead of wearing lighter shades. You could also prefer dull colors like dirty blue or dull blue. Wearing vertical line or small prints would also give a slimming effect.

For those with a medium build, you could go for pieces with fawn or beige colors. For blouses, nets would be great to help disguise physical flaws.

For slimmer women, any color or style would work well.
